Broniminan Scrolls
17:13:05 Dec 29th 08 - Sir Demonsul:

[[Instead of writing stories, I have decided to maintain my God Of Art Or Something Like That status and make picture-based histories. I might switch back to regular stories if I get tired of making images. THAT MEANS this is not an RP, just a collection of short posts with related pictures. My equivalent of a story.]]

Demonsul strode across the dusty ground at the bottom of the pit. Around him, people worked, tapping gently at the cliffs, gradually working away at the sandy stone. Every now and then, one of them would run down to the white tents in the middle of the excavated pit, carrying something, clouds of dust stirred by their passing.
Making his way towards the tent, Demonsul noticed that the far cliff wall was covered in markings, and was made of a different stone. Walking towards it, Demonsul was met by a short, balding man in a white shirt. "It's incredible, sir," he kept babbling, "we have made some remarkable discoveries!" walking on with the man trailing and continuing to talk about his 'incredible finds', Demonsul reached the odd wall.
It was made of rough stone blocks, each of about equal size. It was the buried remains of a building. Onto the blocks were carved several lines of odd symbols that Demonsul recognized as the lettering of the ancient Broniminan language. It was nearly impossible to read, or so he had been told. To Demonsul it was just a lot of random shapes.
Along the wall, there was a gap. It had once been the door to the building, but no it was an entrance to an ancient cave. Going inside, Demonsul regarded the interior. In the center of the room were several tables with the latest in magical flameless lights arranged onto them. Around the tables were several people dressed the same as the man who had met Demonsul. They each were looking at...something.
Coming closer, the crowd parted to let Demonsul through. Looking at the people, it was clear that they didn't recognise him, and that they were just happy to have a visitor. The archeologists evidently were not up to date on more current affairs.
Then Demonsul looked at what lay on the table. It was an ancient scroll, recently cleaned and enhanced by magic to make it easier to read.
{The Scroll}
Looking up from the scroll, Demonsul turned to face the head archeologist, a tall, pale man in his mid-thirties. "It's a fascinating find, isn't it?" the man said, looking back at the scroll. "A genuine historic scroll, back from the very dawn of the Empire!"
"Yes, alright, but what does it mean?" asked Demonsul.
"Well, if you look carefully, you can see it is titled; 'The Dawn of the Broniminan Peoples'. That's great, isn't it?" said the man happily. "Oh, yes, it goes on to say that the gods made the world and the people, and put the people on the world and all that. But then it goes on some more, and you can see a map of Bronimina here, and here it talks about the first encounter with the dwarves! Isn't this just astounding?" said the man, who was now bouncing up and down slightly.
Demonsul looked closely at the last section. "What is this bit?" he asked, pointing at the last picture.
The man thought for a second, looking embarrassed. "Umm, we're not too sure. Apparently, our ancestors had something that the dwarves wanted. We wouldn't give it to them, so they invaded, and we had to give it to them. I think that's the general idea."
Demonsul studied the scroll for a while, and then turned to leave.

[[OMFG STIKFIGUREZ!]]

17:42:17 Dec 29th 08 - Sir Demonsul:

[[Well, this is the earliest Broniminan society recorded, what do you expect?]]

17:46:06 Dec 29th 08 - Duke Michael Deallus:

[[Brilliant scroll drawings like everyone else :p]]

17:52:19 Dec 29th 08 - Sir Demonsul:

[[Alright, let's see your civilization. I'm dragging you into this story! *evil expression]]

A few months later, Demonsul was sitting in a tent in an archaeologial digsite in Tasidian, waiting to see...well, anybody. Apparently, the Tasidian people had recently discovered a series of ancient scrolls themselves, also from the dawn of their civilization. Demonsul was interested to see how they would compare to their Broniminan counterparts.

[[Let's see who shows up to greet me. *pulls Mikey into the RP/story properly]]

Demonsul heard some people talking outside. Apparently, Michael Deallus was coming to survey the digsite. This would be interesting, thought Demonsul. He had met Michael Deallus before. Standing, he went to the flap of the tent and opened it. Stepping outside, Demonsul almost walked into Michael himself. Taking a step backwards, Demonsul said, "Michael! What a surpise!"

18:12:52 Dec 29th 08 - Duke Michael Deallus:

[[Tasidian's early days actually had well written documents.  We were not an "ancient" kingdom like some others.  We have been around for only 200+ years.]]

"I don't like digsites!"

*Runs off*

18:18:09 Dec 29th 08 - Sir Demonsul:

*realizes he's in a quarry

"Damn."

*goes back to Bronimina

18:25:22 Dec 29th 08 - Duke Michael Deallus:

[[Tasidian actually had a scribe write down the history of events.  The first one was Simon Ott, the next was Gideon Ott, then Edward Ott, Barthalomew Ott, Christopher Ott, and Edward Ott II will be the historian for Michael Deallus.]]

18:47:21 Dec 29th 08 - Prince Valan Septim:

[[OOC: Mine being ancient depends upon what universe you're pulling it out of. In Charley's Cidel, it's as old as Tasidian, but in the Septim History Cidel it's over 2000 years old. :-D]]

18:54:36 Dec 29th 08 - Duke Michael Deallus:

[[2000???? You said something like 500 years...and Tasidian is like 200-300]]

19:23:38 Dec 29th 08 - Prince Valan Septim:

[[OOC: In my history, it's two thousand years old! There's a difference between my Cidel and your Cidel...]]
